Barrelmancy, they call it. This is how one Reddit user found a way to get back at Karlak's mortal enemy in Baldur's Gate 3. How badly she was treated and how explosive her revenge could be. Here's how.

Let's be clear, this article is trying to tell Carrack's backstory.

Somewhere towards the end of Act II, we run into Sir Enver Gothash, a politician who worships Bane. He is the one who sold her to the devil.

If you have any compassion for your fellow heartbroken Tiefling barbarians, you will be determined to destroy Gortash at all costs. But you can't do that until you reach Baldur's Gate in Act III, since he is one of the main bosses of the final act. Even if you are not a fan of Carrack (what's up with that?

In listing his characteristics, Golthash is quite deadly. He is a highly intelligent and extremely dexterous foe, and has Dark Devotion, which gives him an advantage on Charmed and Frightened saving throws. He also has advantage against spells and other magical effects. It cannot disarm. It cannot be frightened. Trying to fight him in a room full of Steel Watchers or other goons is generally considered a death wish.

But there is no mention here of his resistance to explosions.

Reddit user carpanaut, who collected thousands of pounds of gunpowder and more alchemist fire vials than he could shake a pitchfork at, posted his conclusion on the Baldur's Gate 3 subreddit.

All they did was pile up barrels of explosives around Lord Golthash, scatter the alchemist's fire on the ground leading up to his small barrel enclosure, scatter it on the main enemy locations scattered around, and trigger a domino effect with arrows from the safe buffet area.

I love to imagine them setting all this up in canon. Don't worry about us. Also, please be careful not to step on this. Thanks."

In the comments section, the original poster said, "As I was experimenting around, I wished I had picked up more wine and oil barrels. I couldn't test with oil, but I could break a wine barrel and coat the floor with alcohol without antagonizing anyone. That is, until you set it on fire."

Only a few guards remained after the ensuing explosion, most of whom were down, burning, or dying. It won't be so hard to beat them now."

And so the early revenge of our good friend and "everyone's favorite barbarian," as the title of the post says, Karlak, was complete.
