General
The Acer 28" 4K 144Hz IPS monitor I use every day is ridiculously cheap at $400.

This particular 4K monitor from Acer was a lesser known model in its lineup, perhaps because the Nitro brand targets 1080p gaming more, and was originally priced at a very competitive $900 MSRP.

Now you can get it for much less than that, and this deal makes it even more affordable. And you're getting a lot of monitor for your money: the 28-inch 4K panel is bright and crisp and displays colors accurately and quickly. [Acer claims a response time (gray to gray) of 1 millisecond, which isn't that fast in real-world situations, but more than enough for most PC gamers. With a maximum refresh rate of 144 Hz and support for AMD's FreeSync Premium, your eyes will thank you for the smooth, tear-free images.

It's not the best gaming monitor, especially when it comes to HDR (High Dynamic Range), but it's perfectly fine; it supports the VESA standard HDR400, which is almost the highest level for an IPS panel. The preset modes in the monitor's control panel are the most disappointing, and without additional settings they don't look very beautiful.

Fortunately, these adjustments are easy to make and can be set from within Windows by installing a small app on your PC.

As for connectivity, there is plenty on offer, with two HDMI 2.1, one DisplayPort 1.4, and a host of USB ports all tucked under the screen. But how often do you need to change cables?

This Nitro XV282K is one of the monitors I use for my daily work and gaming, and it suits my needs perfectly. But don't just take my word for it, check out our sister site Tom's Guide's review of Acer's great monitors.
