The GeForce RTX 4070 is in the middle of Nvidia's 40-series GPUs, with only the RTX 4070 Ti, RTX 4080, and RTX 4090 being faster. However, the RTX 4070 Ti is by far the best of these GPUs because it offers a lot of performance for the money.

Unlike many other models, this Zotac Twin Edge model uses a fairly standard-sized cooler. Underneath is an AD104 graphics chip with 5,888 shaders and a boost clock of 2,475 MHz. Total graphics power is 200W, which runs quite cool for such a powerful GPU.

If upgrading from an older graphics card, note that all RTX 40 series cards use a 12VHPWR cable for power. This RTX 4070 uses relatively little power and should not have the cable overheating issues experienced by some RTX 4090 owners.

As for new graphics features, the RTX 4070 is fully compatible with ray tracing and DLSS 3.5, which consists of an AI power-up scaler, frame generator, and ray denoiser. Games that use these can enable them for better performance without lowering the quality settings.

If you don't care about ray tracing, there are more affordable cards on the market, such as the Radeon RX 6800 XT, that have higher power costs but offer better performance with standard rendering.

Since the RX 6800 XT is AMD's previous generation graphics card, availability may not be as good as RTX 4070 availability.
