Itch.io's New Games for Gaza Bundle Raises Medical Funds for Palestinians

Itch.io has created a new bundle of over 250 games to support Medical Aid for Palestinians, a UK-based charity founded in 1982.

"MAP's vision is a future where all Palestinians have access to an effective, sustainable, community-led healthcare system and can fully realize their rights to health and dignity," the MAP website states. [Through our programs in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, East Jerusalem and Lebanon, we work with trusted and experienced local partners to achieve this vision. Designed and delivered by Palestinians, our programs provide access to essential health services and build local knowledge and skills to address Palestinian health issues. In the event of a humanitarian emergency, we stand ready to respond quickly with aid and assistance"

.

Like most Itch.io bundles, the Games for Gaze bundle is very indie, meaning that most of the games included are unknown to me. But that's part of the charm: for a very low entry fee, you get an avalanche of games from 140 developers. I say "stuff" because it's not just video games: physical games (card games, tabletop RPGs, etc.), game assets, and music collections are also bundled.

That is not to say that everything is deep esoterica. Some relatively well-known games in the bundle include Nuts, a squirrel spy thriller we never thought we'd want, and Hyper Gunsport, a game that was unexpectedly put on hold just before its release due to Stadia's closure last year. These games alone cost at least twice as much as the entire bundle. There is also a game called "Not the Robots," which calls itself "the most exciting roguelike stealth furniture-eating simulator of the year. I don't know about you, but I'm intrigued.

Itch.io's Games for Gaza bundle is available for $10. Already well over the $15,000 goal, the next goal is sure to be closer. The bundle will be available through November 9.
