Skyblivion's new 25-minute video shows the spooky side of the reimagined Cyrodiil.

Skyblivion, the ambitious mod that brings The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion to life in Skyrim's engine, has released a new video showcasing the darker, creepier side of Cyrodiil. Sure, this video was posted a day late for Halloween and 364 days early for the next Halloween, but never mind.

And above all, Skyblivion's mod team is never satisfied with just a small video. From familiar locations to redesigned levels to new creatures and characters, there are plenty of highlights:

The video is part of the original game's Vermina quest, a terror-filled Oblivion realm featuring a cursed wizard and Prince Daedric, It begins in Quagmire. We also visit the town of Hackdart, the scene of a memorable disappearance (the Argonian disappearance). Next, we will enjoy spelunking in the reconstructed Haunted Mine. Formerly an ordinary goblin HQ, the Haunted Mine has been completely redesigned and offers players the chance to solve riddles about miners who went missing in an ancient cave centuries ago. Creepy.

Next stop is the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary to see the remastered Assassin's Lair. We also meet a new assassin, the Dark Guardian. He is a skeleton in Brotherhood armor.

I hope that this murderous skeleton will be your companion as you play the mod.

The second half of the video is dedicated to Oblivion's Vampire Cure quest. The video omits all the necessary materials and soulstone collection, but shows a visit to the completely redesigned Red Water Throw, which is much larger and more ornate than the original cave.

In addition to several puzzles, the cave is home to zombies, skeleton warriors, and the legendary vampire Hindaril. The encounter with Hindaril himself has also been redesigned, making him a very powerful multi-level boss with more spells and abilities than in the original game.

I have to say, this mod is a really great piece of work. The only downside is that the release year is 2025, which seems hopelessly far away every time I see a new Skyblivion video. However, considering that The Elder Scrolls 6 is still five years away, we can probably wait another two years, or even Skyblivion.
