The Sorcerer in Diablo 4 may be the weakest class overall, but it can still gather enough power to push through some of the action RPG's most difficult dungeons.

Sorcerers have struggled to compete with Diablo 4's other four classes in endgame activity since launch. They excel at quickly leveling up to 50, but struggle to survive the deadly enemies they encounter on the game's highest difficulty level, the World Tier.

With a little luck and a great deal of help from the powerful "Malignant Heart" gem from Season 1, the Sorcerers can still bite.

"Soloed a Tier 100 Nightmare dungeon with a Sorcerer at level 91," wrote Reddit user Wunthr.

At Tier 100, enemies will kill you in one hit. With the limited number of times you can die and resurrect in Nightmare Dungeon, this is a great achievement for almost any class, let alone those with the least survivability Wunthr used the popular Blizzard Sorcerer build, which relies on Legendary for the majority of its damage, and and they pulled it off. They also have Caged Heart of the Barber, a Malignant Heart gem that explodes enemies for massive damage.

Unlike other classes, Sorcerers must inflict and maintain elemental status effects on their enemies in order to inflict meaningful damage. Sorcerers live on the edge of death and must really work to kill enemies of a higher level than themselves. This is why many Diablo 4 players consider the sorcerer the worst class, but just because it is not as easy as other classes does not mean it is completely inert.

Blizzard has promised to address the problems players are having with the Sorcerer in the upcoming 1.1 patch and will discuss it in Friday's stream. This may include freeing Fire Bolt from being used as a passive enchantment slot in all popular builds, including Wunthr's build, and increasing defensive skill options from wearing weak armor.

Wunthr proves that no matter how lucky they are to get all the items they need for their builds, just because they are the worst class does not mean they cannot reach the same heights as other classes. It just might be more difficult to get there.
