It seems like I play "Diablo 4" every other day. As I ride my horse through "Fractured Peaks," the skeletons I've killed countless times are once again barricaded in my path. My horse has survived zombies, bugs, spiders, and polar bears, but it can't compete with this bone-crushing blockade.
"We're going to make it so you can break through barricades with mount charges," Diablo 4 game director Joe Shelly said on Twitter, clarifying his comments about mount changes in his most recent Campfire Chat stream.
Shely also confirmed in a reply that the 10-second mounting cooldown resets when using ladders, which was the second most annoying part of moving around Estuar... Diablo 4's open world doesn't feel as flat as the previous game. Thankfully, the ladders were sometimes in the way, causing me to skip over chests and precious plants.
Since its launch, controller players have been at a disadvantage when riding mounts. This is because the speed boost of the spur ability only stacks twice instead of three times. This will also be fixed in patch 1.1.1.
The full list of changes for the next Diablo 4 patch has not yet been fully revealed; Blizzard plans to release the patch notes on Wednesday and they will be available next week. That said, last week we learned that the Sorcerer and Barbarian will receive significant buffs to keep them competitive with the other three classes in Diablo 4's first season. Some of their key skills and aspects of Legendary will be buffed considerably to enhance existing builds and open the door to new builds.
But as someone who plays a Necromancer, a class with basically zero mobility, the only thing I really care about is if horses run fast; Diablo 4's patch 1.1.1 and new Uber Horses will be released on August 8.
