World's first Elden Ring streamer to achieve a no-hit saxophone "doot run" collapses in joy.

The arms race to beat the Elden Ring continues with inexplicable input methods. Dance pads? Passepartout. Guitar? Easy mode. Literal brains? Most people just use a gamepad or keyboard as an intermediary.

Now, to be fair, this may not be as wild as the brainwave thing, but I'm still impressed: a streamer called DrDeComposing, discovered by IGN, beat Elden Ring with an electric saxophone to win the 2022 Game of The Year's Hitless Doot Run.

DrDeComposing took down Elden Ring in three short hours on a Twitch live stream (last live stream below), crossing "The Lands Between" and grazing bosses like Morgott and Fire Giant! I happily dutifully dutifully dutifully dutifully dutifully dutifully dutifully without losing a scratch. The only soundtrack to FromSoft's masterpiece, played almost silently, was a gentle "hissing". It was the Good Doctor defeating the Elden Beast without a single blow, "Let's go!" until he lets out a joyful and tearful scream of "Let's go!

This, as you may have guessed, was the moment when DrDeComposing succeeded in taking Saxe Guide's Elden Ring without a hit for the first time. His previous personal best had suffered a single hit, but he can now rest easy knowing that he has completed a mission that will go down in the history of the world. In his tweet announcing the success, Streamer called it "the world's first no-hit run by Elden Ring using a non-traditional controller. I'm no expert in this field, but I can find no evidence to refute this claim. In any case, it is terribly impressive.

If watching Elden Ring's stream has awakened a hitherto dormant desire to see people playing games with saxophones, you can find DrDeComposing doing this with other FromSoft games on his YouTube channel. You can watch past streams. In the meantime, here's Elden Ring's Hitless Doot Run in full.

CORRECTION: This article originally stated that DrDeComposing beat Elden Ring in two hours. In fact, his run was split into two streams and lasted a total of three hours.
