The first "Remnant" took months to sell a million units, but "Remnant 2" sold in four days.

Remnant 2 has been out for almost a week now and has sold over a million copies on both PC and consoles, to the delight of both developers and publishers.

Although the game has only been out for a week, Remnant actually managed to sell over a million copies in just four days, according to a post on their website. For reference, the original "Remnant" took two months to reach the same sales numbers after its August 2019 launch. According to the press release, "Remnant 2" also succeeded in reaching twice the number of concurrent users at launch as the first one.

Remnant 2 nearly topped Steam's most-played chart just two days after its release, reaching the coveted second place behind the immortal CS:GO. Its peak simultaneous player count was well above Remnant 1 even at the time, and has continued to increase ever since.

Remnant 2 deserves its success. It is a fun, finite game in an arena full of doomed live service magnates that disappear as soon as they are created. It's a solid co-op shooter that knows who it is and what it wants to accomplish.

In PCG's review of Remnant 2, Rick Lane gave the game a high score of 84%, praising it as a "colorful, plasticky, multi-layered fun, build-your-own experience blind bag." I don't see a season pass in sight.
