The changes in yesterday's patch allow Remnant 2 players to customize their characters more easily and experiment with their builds more freely.

The increased trait caps, increased scrap currency income, and adjustments to Orb of Undoing are fairly significant changes, making it easier not only to create interesting characters, but also to adjust the way you play mid-playthrough. The Orb of Undoing change is a particularly big adjustment: the item that resets all consumed characteristic points is now infinitely usable.

Developer Gunfire Games released a statement on their website about this QOL change, along with the patch notes:

"There is still a lot we are working on regarding characteristics and long-term grinding (for those who want to participate), but this patch We wanted to make some changes in this patch to give players more freedom to experiment. Players should find it easier to Respec, and there should be more scraps overall. In the short term, however, it should help ease the burden of reconfiguring builds and experimenting with different options.

Other changes related to character building include an increase in the characteristic cap by 5. In addition, the characteristic requirement has been removed so that the second archetype can be equipped as soon as it is obtained. Visit Wallace as soon as you obtain or convert an engram.

Scrap income from killing broken, regular, and rare chests, as well as odd-shaped objects, has been increased and the amount of scrap removed has been reduced. Scrap and EXP will also be earned from Tomes of Knowledge when the Trait Cap is reached.
