Many of Diablo 4's high-level drops were not created equal. There are barbarian gloves that turn the game into a kind of euphoric slot machine, and necromancer gear that makes the corpse-exploding ability completely out of control, but those are just one side of the coin. On the other side, well, here's what you get.
This, dear reader, is the Flocking Wise Bone Weaver Helmet, discovered by a Diablo player calling himself LavusVincere on Reddit, is a barely noticeable piece of legendary headgear, except for one aspect: its, aspect. In the case of this helmet, it reads, "You Heal for 0 Life per Second for each Close Enemies, up to 8 Life per Second."
Well, how generous. You might think you're missing something, but you're not. It appears that this item heals 0 per second per nearby enemy. In other words, even if you are surrounded by trillions of enemies, you will not gain 8 lives per second. Come to think of it, almost every item in Diablo 4 has this aspect.
Or, in the words of Reddit user Jmadman311, "If surrounded by endless enemies, you might reach 8 lives per second."
It is possible that the game simply rounds to 0 from a vanishingly small fraction (like 0.1 recovery per second), but honestly, that might be more insulting than the novel effect of a flat 0.
Worse, LavusVincere this item, obtained as a drop from the Butcher, a vicious and rare (and occasionally large) enemy that appears only occasionally to threaten players. I think such special encounters are guaranteed to drop items that aren't, you know, ridiculously awful, which is probably why I'm not a well-known game designer.
Seems to be a product of players getting the drop at low levels; LavusVincere wasn't even level 10 before he got the new item and was particularly weak when he found it.
In other words, it may have actually been a weaker drop; a Reddit user named MamaMouser was playing with a level 1 alt and got an item with a very similar aspect after a fight with Butcher, but the item's maximum value was (possible as much as possible) was a paltry 6Life per second. Diablo 4, my friends: it could be worse.
