General
The Xbox Wireless Headset is only $50 and is one of the best deals before Prime Day.

Who says you have to wait for next week's Amazon Prime Day PC gaming deals to get gaming peripherals on the cheap, as Walmart is offering the Xbox Wireless Headset for half the regular price, the lowest price since its launch at $50.

I really like the unique design of the Xbox Wireless Headset. It features swivel ear cups on both sides to control the media, and it is flat so it can be used on its side. It may seem like a small thing, but after two years, it is still the main reason I prefer this headset over more expensive gaming headsets.

The headset works fine out of the box, but you will need to use the Xbox Accessories app if you want to make adjustments or install firmware updates. In terms of usefulness, the Xbox Accessories app is rated "not bad" compared to other apps that handle PC peripherals such as HyperX Ngenuity and Razer Synapse.

Since the $125 Starfield Xbox wireless headset (same product, but with a cool "NASA punk" aesthetic) went on sale a few weeks ago, the regular version is selling for $80 instead of the original $100 at retail, but buying directly from Microsoft Then it's still full price. In any case, this $50 deal is the lowest price available.

The headset only supports Bluetooth on the PC and connects to the Xbox console using a proprietary wireless protocol. This means that the headset can be connected to the PC and the Xbox console simultaneously without having to re-pair.

Despite the cool design, the headset lacks some of the standard features found in other headsets: there is no 3.5mm jack, and if you want to enjoy virtual surround sound, you must purchase Dolby Atmos software for $15. Battery life is approximately 15-25 hours.

The headset will be available at Prime Day next week, along with other best wireless gaming headsets.
