Ship kit bashing seems to be the latest trend among Starfield hopefuls. One very dedicated fan is killing time by cutting out ship parts from trailer footage and reassembling them in Photoshop.
In this thread, user __ass writes, "I assembled this ship by cutting out individual modules from the screenshot. It's a pretty convincing fake, so much so that I had to look twice to see if Bethesda released Shipbuilder earlier.
The same user has also assembled a mini fleet of ships, as well as the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars.
Reaction to these nifty constructions has been quite positive, with user sinjiitachimora commenting: "I wish I had a shipbuilder I could tinker around with until September, but thanks to these posts I think I can manage."
.
Granted, Todd Howard revealed in a podcast with Kinda Funny Games a few weeks ago that ship building is a late-game activity, so waiting 30 to 50 hours to set up all the ships and import them doesn't make much sense It would not.
There is also a character creator prototype assembled from unclear screenshots of Starfield's pre-release content. Flicking through it feels like hacking a half-baked web browser MMO from the early 2000s.
For fans waiting for Bethesda's latest space RPG, which is devouring enough pre-release content to stick to spooning, the wait seems a bit long... Starfield's release date is September 6, and for their sake and ours, we Hopefully it will not be postponed.
