Dell is offering a $350 34" curved gaming monitor at a great price. This offer is a $150 discount off the regular price, making it the most affordable since its launch in 2021. This is a good choice for those who want to immerse themselves in work and gaming, but avoid the fully immersive pricing.
The Dell S3422DWG has been on the market for a few years now, but it remains a solid gaming monitor: it features a 34-inch curved ultrawide display with 1440p resolution and a fast 144Hz refresh rate on a VA panel. It also offers a wide color gamut and strong peak brightness, making it ideal for gaming in brightly lit rooms where you need to see details in darker environments, such as the dark and dim Diablo IV dungeon.
When the S3422DWG was released in 2021, I used it as a monitor for about a year. What I like about it is that it is loaded with features such as customizable picture settings, picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture. The response time is as fast as 1ms (just check the optional overdrive setting). It also lacks gamer aesthetics: no RGB or funky stands, which could be a deciding factor, depending on your mood.
The only serious problem with this monitor, however, was its poor viewing angles. To ensure an optimal viewing experience, place it in the middle of your desk. Otherwise, the image may appear distorted.
The Dell monitor's price of $350 is the lowest we've seen, but if you're interested in a large curved gaming monitor, there are even cheaper alternatives: the ASRock Phantom Gaming 34-inch monitor (see our ASRock PG34WQ15R2B review ) is available for $294 after rebate and is a great option for those looking to save money. Just be sure to take the time to properly adjust your settings to achieve the best visual performance.
