Treasure Goblins Beware: This Diablo 4 treasure chest spit out enough rare items to crash the game.
Reddit user High-With-You posted a video of a treasure chest with seemingly endless loot inside. He said that every time he clicked, items of all rarities spewed out and did not stop until the game crashed.
"It feels wrong somehow but I can't stop," they wrote, "like a cash machine that spits out bills." Maybe I should stop..."
High-With-You was attempting to complete Quest A Sodden Pact in the Scosglen area of Diablo 4. Just north of the quest's destination, they found the world's most generous treasure chest. With each click, loot overflowed, as if they had a loot valve with an endless supply of Legendary and Sacred items.
According to High-With-You, they were World Tier 3, meaning the item drops were not worth as much as they could get at higher World Tiers, but they had "half of the uniques' hidden tabs" from their brief experience.
"Some randoms joined us and they got items too.
For a few hours last week, a little over 100 players were able to get Diablo 4's rarest and most powerful item from Helltide's chest due to a bug; Blizzard shut this down immediately and made everyone keep the "Uber Unique" item We decided to do this. Had High-With-You been World Tier 4 where these items actually dropped, this infinite chest glitch would have been much worse, or maybe even better. Not sure if there is a secret level of cows there.
Certainly, Blizzard would not make players stuff their pockets with that much loot in a matter of seconds. Even if they weren't powerful upgrades, that amount of items would yield far more gold than you should be able to earn at that speed.
A commenter on this post warned High-With-You to make sure no one's name was on the video so Blizzard couldn't ban them, to which they replied: "Don't worry, I transformed, you won't find it.
