Best Steam Deck SSDs now 60% off!

If your Steam Deck is starting to sweat your game selection, it may be time for an upgrade. For Prime Day, there are two great SSD deals on the small-factor NVMe Sabrent drives that Steam Deck needs. Both are faster than the Steam Deck's standard SSDs, and the 1TB option is larger than the internal storage capacity of even the Deck's largest models for just $109

if you have a low-capacity Steam Deck with a 64GB or 256GB drive, You can upgrade your storage and speed by purchasing a 512GB Sabrent Rocket 2230 for $75, a $15 discount. For a bit more, you can purchase a 1TB drive for just $109, 60% off the regular price.

PC Gamer hardware writer Katie Wickens said the Sabrent 2230 SSD could be "my dream Steam Deck SSD" when it was released late last year. While Sabrent is not the first manufacturer to launch an M.2-bound SSD in the 2230 form factor, most manufacturers do not match the speeds seen in larger form factor SSDs. "After using the Sabrent Rocket 2230 in person in March, she gave the NVMe SSD an 80% rating in her review, specifically testing it as a Steam Deck upgrade.

Price was one of the factors that discouraged her from recommending the 1TB version of the Rocket, but this sale resolved that issue beautifully. Katie says of the 1TB drive, "It's about on par with the 512GB, if not a little less stable in terms of file transfers and load times. The original SSD in the deck took 40-plus seconds to load, but load times were cut in half or more, with some games taking even longer to load. It's definitely a bit fickle."

Given these pros and cons, you can get a nice speed boost with a small Rocket or make the leap to high-capacity handheld storage.

The Steam Deck itself is also currently on sale, so if you get the smallest one for cheap and replace the SSD with a 512GB Sabrent, you may be able to get it for less than the sale price of the 512GB Steam Deck.
