Your favorite gaming headset at an unbeatable price on Prime Day!

I used to be much less than satisfied with the speakers that fit my ears. They were too tight, too grainy, not loud enough, or the cords were annoying ...... I almost accepted that there was always something I didn't like about the headset I chose to spend my life with. That's when I fell in love with the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro Wireless headset. The reigning champion on the list of best gaming headsets, its wireless cousin is currently at its lowest Prime Day price of $99. [For me, it's the BlackShark's outstanding sound quality and comfort. I get the best clarity in a USB headset (and wireless) for both gaming and music. The simulated 7.1-channel audio is underwhelming (not that I'm a fan of fake surround sound), but the Razer Synapse software allows me to do my own audio mixing and profile settings.

The thick cushion fabric on the band and ears wraps around my large head without putting pressure on it. Even when I sweat a lot in the summer, the BlackShark does not collapse from the seams (based on two years of wearing it).

The battery is also quite good; when used in wifi wireless mode with a USB 2.0 dongle, I averaged about 2 to 2.5 days of heavy use before it beeped to let me know it was time to charge. If charging is required, the only option is a micro USB cable, which may be cumbersome if you have fully transitioned to the USB-C lifestyle, but the included cable is sturdy and long.

The only drawback to the BlackShark is the onboard microphone. It is a highly directional microphone, requiring you to hold it fairly close to your mouth, which is quite suitable for avoiding ambient noise. In return, your voice will sound flat and processed, but clear, like a helicopter pilot's.

This is a relatively minor complaint, given the excellent discount. I don't think there is a better headset currently on sale for under $100, including the new 2023 update from the same BlackShark. If you are considering this headset, take his advice and get this older (but still great) version.
