Which would be a better job, flipping houses or creating media about flipping houses?" Given the dozens of TV shows about flipping houses, it might be the latter. Its sequel holds the record for the most-played demo at the recent Steam Next Fest.

Taking first place on the list of "Next Fest's" most-played demos, the demo for "House Flipper 2" is "Lies of P," an action-RPG that looks like "Bloodborne" plus "Pinocchio," and "Viewfinder," a trippy puzzle game, It beat out hundreds of other demos to take first place.

The House Flipper 2 demo is no longer playable, nor is the Viewfinder demo, but the Lies of P demo is still available for download on Steam. The same goes for other popular Next Fest demos, including the cat adventure Little Kitty, Big City, the turn-based RPG Sea of Stars, the co-op action RPG Hammerwatch 2, and the sci-fi adventure The Invincible.

The original House Flipper simulates the entire process of starting a flipping business, buying an old or rundown house, renovating it nicely, and reselling it for a profit. Like players of "The Sims 4," many people take the construction of "House Flipper" seriously, and the game is quite flexible. I'm not sure how much an active police station with prisoners is going for on the housing market these days, but California would be a good place to find a buyer.

House Flipper 2 will introduce new systems and graphics, but its biggest feature is that players will be able to build houses from scratch, not just flip them.

House Flipper 2 is expected to be released sometime this year, but no specific date has been set yet. In the meantime, developer Frozen District says it will "continue to develop and support House Flipper 1," which has so far delivered seven DLC packs with new design options including animals, new houses, and a free cyberpunk-themed add-on.
