Ubisoft has announced a tie-up with haptics company Owo for its upcoming Assassin's Creed Mirage. The haptic top looks like a padded T-shirt, operates wirelessly, and allows the user to feel sensations in 10 locations on the upper body and arms.

You may wonder where the name comes from, but it's pretty simple: it's "the sound someone makes when they realize their haptic suit is about to vaporize them.

"Now you are not pretending to be Basim," the press release exclaims, "you are Basim!"

[6 This is rather a backhanded rebuke to all of us impersonators who play the game normally; Assassin's Creed: Mirage Special Edition includes a digital copy of the game and promises "a special feeling you've never felt before," but

"It sounds like something the devil would say before he starts torturing you.

Owo lists a variety of sensations that the suit can simulate, including the worrisome-sounding "axe" and "severe abdominal wounds." It can also be shot at, shot with an exit wound, or stabbed in the chest.

The Assassin's Creed vest also comes with this ominous warning: "Don't get too close to the enemy, or you'll get hurt." In other words, come on, Ubisoft. What kind of world wants to experience the shock of being hit by an enemy in a video game?

Anyway, if you can't wait to have your body wrapped in a software-controlled exosuit that simulates physical impact, keep your eyes on the Owo website. I mean, what could possibly go wrong? Interestingly, the companies involved can't stop calling this an exclusive. It seems pretty exclusive to be kicked off by the suits.
