The developer of Battlebit says the game's success is "just wild" and that DICE is still capable of delivering "the absolute marvel that is Battlefield."

BattleBit Remastered is one of the big breakout games of the year, a low-poly Battlefield-style FPS with a lot of destruction and, most importantly for players, a lot of value. The game has quickly gained a large user base, many of whom are overjoyed by the idea of an up-front game that doesn't involve raking in the pennies with battle passes or DLC elements.

The game has sold over 2 million copies within weeks of its launch, and developer TheLiquidHorse took part in a fan Q&A to discuss the future of BattleBit. The developer said of the game's success, "This is just ridiculous. I don't think any of us even realize what we're actually doing right now."

Given the money BattleBit must have made, one pundit asks, is there a bright orange Lamborghini in the development team's future? But TheLiquidHorse says that most of the cash will come straight back: "Most of it will stay in the game. Now, we will only take a small portion of this to make a living. I'm a big car guy, but a sports car is still a dream."

Several questions were directed at DICE's Battlefield series, specifically whether "Battle Bits" offers what fans feel Battlefield has lacked in recent years. TheLiquidHorse has clearly inspired much of their own work TheLiquidHorse admirably resisted the temptation to heap criticism on the game that clearly inspires and underpins so much of their work, opting instead for a more optimistic view. We are just newcomers in this field," he said. DICE probably knows things a lot better than we do. What has happened in the last few years is not their fault, and given time and freedom, I think they can still deliver an absolute masterpiece of Battlefield.'

And the inspiration wasn't just Battlefield. Battlefield, Squad, Insurgency, HLL, Ace of Spades ......" TheLiquidHorse said.

One player noted that the Medic is by far the most popular in their opinion because the Medic's leveling progression is faster than the other classes." TheLiquidHorse agreed, "Yes, we would buff all other roles and make them more effective in combat. As for the more general grind, "We will definitely revisit the progression down the road and fill in the gaps with new weapons."

There is no support for a Steam workshop." We will allow some modding on the community servers, but a full Steam Workshop is not possible." The game is not made for it." One player asked a technical question about server optimization, to which TheLiquidHorse simply replied, "Hell no. [The first few weeks were spent fixing exploits, fighting DDOS attacks, and generally dealing with the problems that this kind of scale brings. Hence, the biggest learning from creating something like BattleBit, TheLiquidHorse said, "The more you go around doing it, the more you discover."
