Activision almost confirms that "Modern Warfare 3" will carry over loot earned in the previous game.

Technically, the yet-to-be-announced Modern Warfare 3 will likely keep all the hard-earned loot from last year's Modern Warfare 2 intact; Call of Duty's official account recently tweeted a "poll", asking players the following questions Posed:

"Yes" and "Yes, when will it be released to the public?" doesn't seem like an example of inspiring democracy, but it's pretty brand new, considering last week's tony crossover with "The Boys."

This feels like a course correction after "Warzone 2" wiped out player progress last year and one gamer claimed that Infinity Ward "may never recover from this decision." Obviously, this bleak future did not show up at all, but skepticism remains as to whether this means the game will simply be overpriced DLC.

Indeed, such opinions are occasionally found among favored fans:

Note that a yearly release schedule is the norm for this series, and the fact that cosmetics will take over is not an indicator of anything else about the game. Of course, that won't stop people from speculating, and I can see how some might take it as a sign that the new game is not something that gamers will struggle with.

But for the most part, players are just relieved and excited:

A franchise with such a quick release schedule seems like a good place to take this tactic now that live service microtransactions are as common as air It seems like a good place to start. It's not as if it's a good idea to spend a lot of money on one game and then lose all of that equipment on the next game. In any case, it's pretty interesting that Activision is tweeting about Modern Warfare 3 before it's officially announced.
