The inexplicable Kickstarter for "Call of Duty: The Board Game" finally gets a release date.

If you could deploy white phosphorus in Monopoly: ......" This is a brave question that only "Call of Duty The Board Game" could ask. After teasing a (strange) crowdfunding campaign this past April, the tabletop version of COD has now set a Kickstarter start date.

Once the Kickstarter launches, "pre-orders for the base game and additional Kickstarter pledge tiers will be available," says the press.

Until then, they encourage people to sign up for their mailing list to get "K-9 Unit Promo Minis and Killstreaks" (from them). I have no idea what a killstreak means in the context of a board game, but I hope it means yelling "Counter UAV!" while poking your fellow players in the eye.

Actually, I'm curious to see what this will look like when it is released. As a recent convert to the video game version of COD, I would like to know how the board game makers of Arcane Wonders will translate its fast-paced, tingling gameplay into the calmer pace of a board game. Of course, the answer may not be: most of the marketing materials emphasize planning and strategy rather than kills because ADS is 2% faster than its opponents.
