Humble Bundle's next payload features lo-fi games to snuggle up to

Fall is in the air a little earlier than usual. The latest Humble Bundle, titled "Whimsy & Wonder:" consists of PC Gamer's previous cozy game releases.

Proceeds benefit the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the Legal Defense Fund, and as of this writing, the bundle has sold over 6,700 copies.

Find a warm blanket to wrap yourself in and sink into a land of crunchy leaves and pumpkin spice. No, seriously, it is dangerous to enter this level of cozy ambiance without the proper safety gear. Beware.

I haven't had a chance to visit a cat cafe, so I'm going to live vicariously through "Cat Cafe Manager," a mix of Moonlighter, Stardew Valley, and Neopets, but with actual pets instead of monsters. The setting is "Caterwaul Way". Oh come on, that's perfect. Help.

"A cozy 3D platformer for the tired." I love platformers. I'm tired. All those cat puns are really tiring, and Here Comes Niko made it onto the list of winners of last summer's popular frog-based game. It's a charming platformer with a hilarious atmosphere and 2D Paper Mario-like characters. Did we mention the frog is your boss?

PC Gamer's Lauren Morton covered the game last year, and in summary, Witchy Life Story is a town life sim with two weeks to save the harvest festival. The twist is that you don't really want to be here, but your grandmother has forced you to stay. The village of Flora will not be a nightmare. After all, it seems like a nice place to spend a spell or two.

Lauren was also pretty excited when this game won a publisher in 2019, and I can see why; Garden Story is a Stardew Valley-like town management-slash-exploration game where you play the Guardian of the Grove, tasked with protecting your fruit and vegetable friends. If you don't mind the challenge of a cozy game, there's also a "prevent doom and gloom" mode.

Baking pretty cakes is easy: Lemon Cake is another store management life-sim in the vein of Cat Cafe Manager, but this time the focus is on baked goods, with or without friendly ghosts lurking about. It has an adorable 3D aesthetic reminiscent of nostalgic MMOs like "Mabinogi" and "Fly For Fun," and you can even own a cat. Which means we have to stop talking about this before the cat puns start meowing again.

Natalie Clayton was excited about this game in 2020. It's like Pokemon Snap, but instead of looking for cool monsters, you're looking for lovingly styled creatures from real-world nature. The game is described as "a feel-good game of running around and doing good."

A Short Hike is a journey I missed, but I'm excited to get started right away; the game, which has a high 99% rating on Steam, puts you in Claire's shoes as she desperately tries to find a phone signal while visiting a state park. It's a bit of a cute stunt that climbs the charming pixelated mountains in spectacular fashion. An update with additional content and tweaks was released a few months after launch, so it may be worth revisiting for those who passed by.

Nothing is ever truly broken, as the protagonist of Ustwo Game's "Assemble With Care" would have it. This cozy repair simulator repairs not only your belongings, but your mind as well. When we arrived in sunny Bellavilla, the treasures and the hearts of the townspeople were in a bit of a shambles. If you like tearing things apart and tinkering, "Assemble With Care" is perfect for you.

A charming game starring a little bird named Flint. Haven Park is a game about restoring grandma's favorite hideaway. A blend of park management and Animal Crossing, the end result is a collection of colorful characters in a protected area. This is a 65% off voucher, which will set you back about £4.5 (just under $6) on Steam.
