Metroidvania is a familiar and engrossing experience for me, as I am regularly locked out of certain rooms due to lack of ability and resources. Thanks to the recently launched Humble Bundle, the best Metroidvanias in years can now be experienced for only $15/£12:
All of them boast Steam user reviews scoring over 90%, and one of them, "Hollow Knight" is on the list of best Metroidvania games on PC.
The first of these is clearly "Hollow Knight. A side-scrolling adventure with a bug motif, fans are still patiently waiting for its sequel. There's not much to say about what hasn't already been said, so I'll leave it to Tom Marks' review of Hollow Knight, written in 2017: "The harder I tried, the more Hollow Knight rewarded me with thrilling challenges and the discovery of a beautiful, story-colored cave It rewarded me with ..... .35 hours later, I can confidently say that Hollow Knight is one of the best games I've played."
[8] I must also mention Blasphemous, by the Spanish studio Game Kitchen. It is one of the most visually stunning games I have ever played, and with "Blasphemous 2" coming out later this year, it is the perfect time to familiarize yourself with the series. The others are, say, ...... You can't go wrong with any of them; Bloodstained is a modern take on Castlevania by Koji Igarashi, one of the original creators of the Castlevania series, and I quite liked it when it was released in 2019; Lost Ruins is a traditional combat system with an intriguing mix of melee combat and magical status effects; "Haiku, the Robot" is a cute take on the "Hollow Knight" formula; and "Lone Fungus" looks like fun no matter what you're doing. It's hard to say no to that face.
