The tabletop RPG Pathfinder has already spawned a series of successful CRPGs in the form of Pathfinder: Kingmaker and its sequel Wrath of the Righteous. But the latest game based on Pathfinder's ruleset is an ARPG that turns its weapons squarely on Diablo, and this bold fantasy upstart's Kickstarter campaign has just begun.
Officially titled Pathfinder: based on the epic adventure path of the same name, the Kickstarter page describes it as "a cooperative hack-and slash game," the description reads. They will face off against an evil sorceress named Velcora Halvex and an army of creatures necessary for an ARPG.
The campaign page also details the features we can expect from Abomination Vaults. The first of these is a "vast mega-dungeon" beneath Gauntlight Keep, divided into "several different biomes," each comprising a chapter of the game. These warrens can be explored by four character classes: barbarian, ranger, cleric, and wizard. Each has access to powerful traits and abilities, such as "dragon fire breather" and "ancestor of the giants."
As of this writing, the Kickstarter is nearly two-thirds funded, having raised £151,991 ($189,892) of its £243,494 ($303,460) goal. In addition to raising funds, the Kickstarter also allows developers to set various "social goals," such as the number of Twitter followers or Discord followers. Reaching these goals unlocks several stretch goals, including new weapon drops and new hero abilities.
You can check out the full Kickstarter page here. Backers can support the project from any amount without payment, but the rewarded backer tier starts at CA$40 (roughly £24/$30). If funding is successful, developer BKOM Studios plans to offer the game in July 2025.
