Take over Skyrim's annoying shopkeepers with this mod!

In a poll of the most annoying NPCs in Skyrim, Nazim the walking meme would be pretty high on the list ("Do you frequent the Cloud District?"). Cicero in Jester, Heimskull, the yelling, godforsaken man in Whiterun, and "Aren't adventurers supposed to look tough?" in Solitude. But spare us the hate for Belethor, the sleazy proprietor of Belethor's General Goods in Whiterun. When you leave his store, he condescendingly says, "Dooo come back."

Belethor also says, "Everything is for sale, my friend. Everything. If I had a sister, I'd sell her in a heartbeat." This seems to have given the prolific modder wSkeever an idea: Belethor's Sister is a quest mod for Skyrim Special Edition that reveals that the pawn shop really does have a sister named Lelaegh, and that she really did sell it. Your job is to track down Lelaegh, rescue her, and help her take control of her no-good brother's store.

Finding Lelaegh will not be easy. You have to follow in the footsteps of those who bought and sold her, through various existing merchant NPCs and dungeons, and eventually to the Soul Cairn of the Dawnguard DLC. This means that you will need to either do the majority of that quest line or use Skyrim's console command ("coc DLC01SoulCairnOrigin" to teleport directly).

Finally, to help Lelaegh take over Belethor's General Goods, he will need to trade with a merchant in Whiterun. (This will result in weekly rewards and a series of radiant quests for Lelaegh to help his business flourish.

While there are plenty of quest mods that add pop culture inspiration to Skyrim, from Dark Souls to Doctor Who, Belethor's Sister draws on Skyrim itself. Like a fanfic, it discovers and pulls on threads that no one else noticed. The result is a deeper enjoyment of the original story, further highlighting the personalities of the characters we've already met. Stephen Russell is just one of the dubious characters voiced by Stephen Russell, but now he is forever the man I set out on an epic journey to find that sister.

Belethor's Sister is another mod that adds dialogue to NPCs using AI that learns existing dialogue, and it works quite well; it may help that Skyrim reuses the same actors for many characters, so there is a wealth of material available

Belethor's Sister for Skyrim Special Edition is available for download on Nexus Mods. You need to be at least level 20 to start the quests, so if you are starting a new player character, we recommend You Are Not a Novice - Higher Level Start to start as a more experienced dragonborn. Additionally, the best mods in Skyrim Special Edition make it even more complete.

Dooo come back.
