The makers of "Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2" will finally be known in a few months.

Like the fearsome Ur-Shulgi, who awoke from a centuries-long slumber to strike down the enemies of Banu Hakim, Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 has risen from the dead and sent a tweet. And posted the news. And then announced more updates for September! The prophets told us that this day would come.

Earlier today, the official account of "Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2" announced, "Rise up, kinsmen! Join us in September for a big announcement!" he tweeted enigmatically. Even if it was the first tweet since the content was removed last year.

However, in a subsequent tweet, he obtained a link to a news article and FAQ on Paradox's website, which included several announcements that would be made at the September presentation, and that everyone who had pre-ordered a physical edition of the game, including the collector's edition, would receive a refund whether they wanted one or not. They also informed us that everyone who pre-ordered the physical edition of the game, including the collector's edition, will receive a refund, whether they want one or not.

It has been over two years since Hardsuit Labs, the original development studio of the game, left the project, and this event will finally reveal the studio that will replace them: Paradox said, "The team is eager for you to play We are hard at work on our vampire game and look forward to announcing our studio in September."

According to the publisher, the presentation will "also share more information about the launch," but it doesn't sound as certain as a release date.

As for refunds, Paradox is refunding everyone, but only physical pre-orders are actively being refunded. The reason for this is that the bonus content that comes with the various editions of Bloodlines 2 will be updated as part of the new version, meaning that "previous physical editions offered items that no longer represented the game."

Frankly, given how much of a development nightmare it has been, does Paradox want to release a physical edition at all at this point? If you would like a refund on any edition of this game, you can find out how on Paradox's site.

Unless you want to check out the five moody new screenshots that Paradox released to coincide with today's news, that's it. At this point, I have no idea how I feel about this game. The abrupt firing of Brian Mitsuda, of the original "Bloodlines" fame, the departure of Carla Ellison, and the general confusion surrounding who is actually making it, does not give me any hope. Still, after two years of relative silence, miracles can happen, and come September, my suspicions may be confirmed.
