First Level 100 Hardcore Character in "Diablo 4" Dies in the Worst Way

Just two days after winning the Diablo 4 Hardcore crown as the first player to reach level 100 in the game's unforgiving permadeath mode, streamer Souaïb "cArn" Hanaf's in-game avatar was not in a glorious showdown with a powerful opponent, but in a random died in the most disgraceful way possible, by server disconnection.

cArn was simply roaming the overworld map, taking down trashy mobs. 'Hello,' he said quickly, clearly alarmed, as the screen suddenly froze. 'You're kidding, right? A moment later, the screen went black.

This is one of the major risks of playing Diablo 4's hardcore mode, especially early in the game's release, when glitches and server instability are relatively common. For whatever reason, a disconnection means you are essentially guaranteed to die. In normal mode, deaths are a minor inconvenience of very short duration and not a major problem, but in hardcore they are irreversible. cArn_'s multiple attempts at the hardcore crown before his victory were derailed by glitches and bugs.

Sure enough, when cArn_ logged back into the game, he found to his great dismay that his character had been defeated and killed by a lowly vampire bat.

"Oh, sure, the vampire bats are going to kill me. ' he said."

cArn_ is understandably upset by his death, but as PCGamesN pointed out, it is not the loss of his character that bothers him, but the gear he has accumulated during his run. To a viewer who suggested that he could boost his new character straight to level 100, he said, "Don't tell me it's okay, I can boost levels." I don't care about levels."

It was a sad end for one of Diablo4's early great heroes, and while death comes to everyone eventually, this was a particularly ugly end. cArn_'s viewer quoted the famous Bad Death scene from the movie world to sum up this moment :
