The Witcher community supports Geralt's voice actor, Doug Cockle, who has been diagnosed with cancer.

Doug Cockle, the voice of Geralt in CD Projekt's The Witcher game trilogy and drinking buddy of PC Gamer's writers, revealed yesterday on Twitter that he has cancer.

"Didn't know. Random check and boom: ...... Full blown prostate cancer," Cockle tweeted. 'Under treatment, so far so good, men over 50 should get a PSA test just to be safe.'

Cockle's tweet sparked a outpouring of support on social media. Fans on The Witcher and The Witcher 3 subreddits have congratulated him and wished him "get well soon," and Twitter users have cheered him on: Johns Hopkins University, for example, states that "the overall prognosis for prostate cancer is among the best of all cancers, Because most cases are detected relatively early and are curable, "the average long-term prognosis for prostate cancer is very promising."

Cockle does not comment further on his diagnosis, but his advice is sound and should be heeded: if you are a man over 50, get tested just in case.
