First Solo Player to Reach Level 100 in "Diablo 4" Hardcore Mode Dies in Battle with Game's Toughest Boss

Earlier this week, Wudijo, who gained Diablo 4 fame by soloing the world's bosses in the beta, became the first player to reach level 100 completely on his own in the game's hardcore mode. The glory did not last long, however, as Wudijo also lost his life in a throwdown with one of the game's toughest bosses.

Wudijo was not the first to reach Hardcore 100, that honor went to cArn_, who took the crown on June 5. However, cArn_, along with his support team of Zizaran, Steelmage, and Nugiyen, helped Wudijo and other players overtake him in the final stages of the race. Wudijo, on the other hand, did it all by himself, which is in some ways an even more impressive feat, even though he was not the first to reach the top.

Unfortunately, the epic story has come to an end. The good news is that unlike cArn_, who lost a hardcore hero to a glitch, Wudijo has thrown himself into the toughest battle in Diablo 4: The Echo of Lilith, a super-powerful, top-of-the-line boss that gives maximum-level, fully equipped players something to worry about

So that's not to say that he's the toughest player in the game.

That is not to say that its death was not frustrating: as soon as a character falls, Wudijo asks, "What happened to my scroll? This refers to the Scroll of Escape, a rare item that allows players to escape the threat of death, including in hardcore mode.

According to a Reddit observer, it was a simple mistake: Wudijo had the scroll, but had not bound it to a key, so when he tried to access it from Diablo 4's wheel menu, he operated the wrong wheel. No scrolling, no escaping.

As Redditor's Ar1go said, "In a long enough timeline, everyone's survival rate will be zero," so it was bound to happen eventually, but it's still a sad ending. This is actually the second time Udillo has been locked in trying to use "Echo of Lilith" solo: as Dexerto pointed out, he successfully used "Scroll of Escape" to escape the first challenge a few days earlier.

This was supposed to happen:

So, RIP Wudijo, we will remember you well. Perhaps Megan Fox would agree.
