The Internet has been abuzz lately with opinions, both for and against the Apple Vision Pro VR headset, and we knew that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg would weigh in, given the company's dominance in the VR headset arena. turned out to sound a bit more slighted against Apple than we had anticipated.

The Verge reporter witnessed a recent meeting where Zuckerberg spoke directly to employees about the Apple Vision Pro.

"I think their announcement really shows the difference in values and vision between the two companies. He then continued, "There is a real philosophical difference in terms of how we approach this issue." [Our vision for Metaverse and Presence is fundamentally social. It's about people interacting in new ways and feeling close in new ways. Our device is also about being active and doing something"

. [In contrast, every demo they showed was of a person sitting alone on a couch. I mean, that may be a vision of the future of computing, but it's not what I want."

There is certainly a contrast, not only in terms of the expected lifestyles of the two companies' customers, but also, of course, in terms of expected disposable income.

Right now, Meta Quest 2 reigns as the reigning VR champion; with the impending launch of Meta Quest 3, prices will drop to $299 (128GB) and $349 (256GB), in contrast to Vision Pro's $3,500. Quest 3 is scheduled to launch for only $499. That's actually $3,000 less.

The thing to consider is that Apple is not a VR company. In other words, it is a pilot product to give developers a chance to get something in their hands and get the ball rolling. However, they have not stated that in case some rich person wants to put it in his or her living room.
