"Midnight Suns" is a great game and one of the best I've played in the last year, but one thing that has been repeatedly complained about by avid fans is how the New Game+ mode works. Previously, you could carry over unlocked characters, and their friendliness, research requirements, and unlocked cosmetics all remained unlocked (although those that consumed gross had to be charged again), but all the effort spent to acquire hero cards went to waste!
The latest upsets.
As of the latest update, that has finally been fixed. It now says: "A toggle has been added to customize your New Game+ experience and choose which progressions to take over!" It says: "Here's what you can toggle between making New Game+ play easier or harder.
I've been putting off playing New Game+ on the dark side, but the Marvel game where Scarlet Witch gets a much better arc than the movie makes me want to jump back in and spend 90 hours playing it. Storm, Venom, Morbius, and Deadpool join her.
It's great to see Firaxis continuing to update "Midnight Suns" even after the layoffs and about 30 game employees losing their jobs at the studio. While I would love to see Firaxis make an even better sequel, the next game on the company's schedule is Civilization 7, which will probably be a more solid earner given that Midnight Suns failed to set the charts on fire.
