Major new build of ultra-hardcore survival shooter "Road To Vostok" unveiled.

If you've been disillusioned lately by the number of survival games that fail to deliver on their ambitious promises, good news: Road to Vostok will be releasing a substantial demo version in the fall of 2023. You'll be able to see for yourself what a hardcore work of this genre has to offer.

In Road to Vostok, you travel across borders and into areas with hostile NPCs to reach the titular region. The more dangerous the area, the more valuable the loot. The next border crossing can be traded for better equipment and treatment.

This ultra-realistic survival game includes an incredibly deep weapon behavior modeling layer that simulates recoil, arm stamina, breath control, low and high stances, slanted sights, and additional attachments such as aiming lasers and night vision filters. In addition, the final game will show the weapon in poor condition, and poor gun maintenance will lead to malfunctions.

The first demo of Road to Vostok attracted over 400,000 players.

Aside from weapons, Road to Vostok has 10 different health states and a dynamic loot system that prevents equipment from spawning in the same place twice. Basically, start thinking like a doomsday prepper.

This level of detail is not surprising since "Road to Vostok" is the work of "Antti," a former Finnish army officer and the sole developer of the project.

"The survival genre lacks innovation and has had many vaporware projects and false promises over the years. To that end, Antti has made Vostok's development roadmap transparent, providing the game's community with regular updates on key milestones and implementations.

"In my career, I am no longer interested in creating other games, titles, or projects," Antti says, asserting that he is focused on "making 'Road to Vostok' the best hardcore survival game in the genre. I truly believe I have the right background, skills, and motivation to make that happen."

You can follow the progress of the anty on the Road to Vostok website, and you can wishlist the game on Steam in preparation for Public Demo 2.
