A new 30XX trailer accompanied by a killer chiptune soundtrack reveals that the rogue-lite will launch on August 9, and a video from the PC Gaming Show also showed the platformer's robot butt-kicking action.
Batterystaple Games' "30XX," the sequel to 2017's "20XX," puts android duo Ace and Nina in metal shoes after awakening from a 1,000-year slumber to platform the fragile world and take down any robots in their way.
The new trailer shows how 30XX can be played solo or with friends in local or online co-op. In addition, 30XX offers two different modes of adventure to suit your preferred style of play: in Roguelite mode, the game consists of randomly generated levels and features punitive permadeath. In Mega mode, however, the levels remain the same and there are save points to check your progress, making it ideal for those who want to experience the nostalgic Mega Man boss rush.
In both modes, the 30XX difficulty can be adjusted to provide just the right level of difficulty. Hopefully, you won't be interrupted by too many frustrating deaths as you search for upgrades, fuse powers, and admire the stylish sprite work.
And once you've finished unlocking all of 30XX's NieR Automata-inspired secret endings, dive into the Maker Mode level editor to explore custom campaigns created by other players or ...... You can create deadly dioramas to test the mettle of strangers.
30XX will be released to PC via Steam on August 9. And if you just can't wait, you can always get it in Early Access and check out the existing build before the official launch later this year.
