Diablo 4, Eagle-eyed Data Analyst Reveals Possible Fifth Difficulty Option

Once you have completed the Diablo 4 campaign, your main goal will be to move up the ranks of the World Tier in order to gain better loot from the more difficult monsters. Currently, World Tier 4, aka Torment, is the highest difficulty level, but there is evidence of another tier in the Action RPG's files.

DatamineARPG, a former Diablo Immortal data miner, found text and icons for World Tier 5 that would fit into Diablo 4's existing difficulty menu; according to Dataminer, before unlocking this dungeon, you must first unlock the They found a marker indicating a capstone dungeon that must be cleared.

DatamineARPG also found the names of gems not yet available in the game. Currently, there are five levels of gems that can be crafted, which can be inlaid into equipment to gain small status bonuses. There is no information on the sixth tier in the file, but there are names for the seventh and eighth tiers. Why do we need even more powerful gems? Maybe to survive World Tier 5.

The current World Tier difficulty breakdown looks like this:

If World Tier 5 continues this pattern, perhaps recommended for maximum level players (level 100), a whole new type of rare item could be introduced. World Tier 5 could become an efficient way to get past level 100.

Given that Diablo 4 is a completely live service game, it is very likely that the endgame will be expanded as time goes on. The game's first season and associated Battle Pass will launch in July and will be the first step in understanding what direction Blizzard intends to take the game. The seasons appear to be where most of the game's new features will be, including new quests and changes to how new characters level up in each season.

Otherwise, Blizzard has said nothing about further updates to Diablo 4 or whether level 100 will always be the true level cap. It's only been a week since the full release, and players are still grinding their way to the maximum level. If there is an endgame extension, expect it to be well later this year.
