Wordle Hint and Answer of the Day #725: Wednesday, June 14

From general tips, guides, and advice to today's Wordle winners, you can find all the help you need to solve the daily Wordle here. You can also scroll down to see the puzzle clue for June 14 (725).

Today's puzzle took me a while to get right until the very end, but I never panicked because the words were mysteriously within reach until the very end. Each new guess seemed to work well enough to keep me on track, so when I finally got to the last line, there was only one word left to challenge. Logically, it had to be the correct answer for Wardle.

The word you need to find today is a general term for any illegal or law-breaking activity. It could be anything from inadvertently parking in a no-parking zone to a clever, professional, premeditated diamond heist. To solve this problem, you need to find two vowels.

There are no repeated letters in today's puzzle.

Playing Wordle well is like getting a small victory every day:

There is no time pressure. It doesn't hurt to come back later if you struggle to find the answer or find the tactical words for your next guess.

Let the winning streak continue: the answer to the June 14 (725) Wordle is "CRIME."

Knowing the answers to past wordls helps to eliminate current possibilities. Since the same word is unlikely to be repeated, you can find clues to guess or find words you don't know.

Here are some recent Wordle solutions:

Wordle gives you six columns of five boxes each day, and your job is to eliminate or identify which five-letter word is hidden and which letter it contains.

You should start with strong words such as LEASH, i.e., words that contain multiple vowels, common consonants, and non-repeating letters; pressing Enter will show you the correct or incorrect letter in the box. If the box goes to ⬛️, it means the letter is not in the secret word. means the letter is in the word, but not in that position. means that the correct letter is in the correct position.

The second time around, you will need to compliment the starting word, using another "good" guess to cover the common letter you missed last time, while avoiding the letter you now know for sure is not present in today's answer. After that, you simply use what you have learned to narrow down the correct word. You can try a total of 6 times, and you can only use actual words (so you can't fill in the box with EEEEE to see if there is an E). Remember that letters can be repeated (e.g. BOOKS).

Wordle was originally conceived by software engineer Josh Wardle as a surprise for his partner, who loved word games. From there it spread to his family and was finally released to the public. Since then, the word puzzle game has spawned a slew of Wordle-like games, focusing the daily gimmicks on music, math, and geography, and it wasn't long before Wordle became so popular that it was sold to the New York Times for a seven-figure sum. Indeed, it would only be a matter of time before we would be communicating solely through tricolored boxes.
