'Jedi: Survivor' Update Fixes Bounty Hunters Not Killing You, But This Isn't the Performance Patch You're Looking For

The quest to make "Star Wars Jedi: Survivor" fit into the game's atmosphere continues with a new patch that promises to clean up the problems plaguing players trying to take down Haxion Brood. The bounty hunter side quest (working with stylish notorian Kaij Venda) has been plagued by buggy blaster holes.

In May, players reported a bug that prevented Kaiji from cooperating to protect himself from Jedi hunters. Players trying to complete the game were troubled by the fact that the Kaiji would not tell them their next target. In some cases, the Kaiji even turned invisible.

That should no longer happen, and other patch notes include a lower crash rate, enhanced blaster handling, and a rather disturbing addition: "Jada's training dummy was sneaking around. It is now fixed. I never personally noticed Jada's stormtrooper dummy shuffling around like the Weeping Angel in Doctor Who, but I am very relieved that it is no longer able to carry out the blaster shot revenge I bullied it with.

What concerns me is that they have remained mute about resolving the game's lingering performance issues. While I find it frustrating that these barriers are getting in the way of what is otherwise a great game, I can't blame the player for being fed up with the glitches. Most of my play time was spent struggling with the frame rate drop, and several key moments were ruined by the bug, such as plummeting through the geometry of an imperial ship during a thrilling intro sequence.

Hope springs eternal, but even months after its release, this is still a high-profile PC game in need of a performance tune-up; those who enjoyed Fallen Order would recommend Jedi: Survivor, but this issue comes with a Death Star-sized asterisk is attached to it.
