Update: And it's gone! Blizzard has released a hotfix to stop the cellar event where enemies respawn infinitely.
Original Story No matter how many nerfs Blizzard puts out, Diablo 4 players will find a way to squeeze as much XP and rare items as possible out of the action RPG.
The infinite spawn glitch may be the most blatantly broken XP and item farm in the game since launch. Depending on the class you play, you may not even need to move to take advantage of it.
The cellar is Diablo 4's bite-sized dungeon and probably the first thing you start ignoring as you progress through the game. Usually, cellars only have a few enemies or random events that reward you with a single treasure chest. Compared to regular dungeons, they are hardly worth your time. So far.
"Who said cellars aren't worth it?" Reddit user Ryulen asked in a post showcasing a room so full of items that you can't even see your character. The nine-second clip they shared has so many names of items on the screen that it feels like you're reading a book.
While they are not responsible for discovering the glitch, Leuren's clip is a peek into what you can do in the basement with the right events and at the right time. The amount of XP and loot gained is so great that I doubt Blizzard will let this go on for long.
As with any such egregious glitch, use it knowing that there is a risk that Blizzard might suspend or ban your account. Otherwise, I would only recommend doing this if you are about to finish your campaign and hit level 50. To activate this glitch, your character must be good at annihilating a swarm of enemies in a second or two.
Here's how:
Some players have reported that when they take down the first swarm with a couple of seconds left on the event timer, the enemies start respawning endlessly, but latency or character build may be a factor. You should aim to annihilate the enemy as close to the end as possible. If you fail, you can always reset or try another basement.
Once you have made the entrance to hell, you can grow as many demon crops as you like. You are free to teleport back to town to manage your inventory, but if you return within a few minutes, the cellar will not reset.
So far, this glitch has not been fixed, and it won't be long before Blizzard gets around to it. Especially considering that this glitch is an outright glitch and not an enemy density issue; Blizzard has promised to make farming in dungeons less valuable than participating in endgame activities in RPGs like Helltides and Nightmare Dungeons They have promised to do so, so they obviously won't leave it like this for long.
