Update: We
Original Don't get your hopes up, but you could be back in Sanctuary sooner than you think A new tweet from the official Diablo account has sparked hopes that another beta for Diablo 4 (opens in new tab) will be available before the full release on June 6.
The tweets sparked expectations that another beta of Diablo 4 (opens in new tab) would be released before the full release on June 6.
I say don't get your hopes up because this tweet is pretty vague and could mean several different things. The account is responding to a user's tweet earlier this month that "Need more Diablo 4 game time having withdrawal." In the quoted tweet, the Diablo account said, "That can be arranged... " replied
Diablo's Director of Community Development Adam Fletcher replied with my favorite mischievous side-eye GIF (opens in new tab), and even Blizzard President Mike Ybarra (opens in new tab) replied to the questionable tweet by joined in. The tweets have severely upset fans, with many asking if this will be the second open beta or if it will be a surprise early release. The former is far more likely than the latter, in my opinion, but never say never. Some less optimistic people than me seem to think that Blizzard will simply re-promote early access for four days after pre-order, but I would like to think that there will be no cryptic tweets about what we already know.
We still don't know what this tweet means, but we do know that Diablo 4 is basically ready to go at this point. Earlier this week, Blizzard announced that the game has officially gone gold (open in new tab). While not as spectacular as before, it is still a major milestone and a sign that we don't have to wait much longer. The developers also made a number of tweaks based on feedback from the two March betas, such as reducing backtracking in dungeons (opens in new tab) and switching up the odd font selection. I'm frustrated that they still have no intention of implementing a map overlay (opens in a new tab), though.
My guess is that today's (April 20) Diablo 4 developer livestream will reveal the answer to Blizzard's vague tweet: at 11am PT / 2pm ET / 7pm BST, Diablo's Twitch (opens in new tab) and YouTube ( open in new tab) will take place.
