Blizzard asks "Diablo 4" fans to "come hit the servers" in May ?

Diablo 4 (opens in new tab) will be open for everyone to play one more weekend to test server stability in May, Blizzard announced in a stream today.

The Diablo 4 "Server Slam" playtest will run from May 12 through May 14, and will offer previous beta rewards (opens in new tab) and a new reward for defeating the world boss, Ashaba (opens in new tab).

The beta will take place at the same location as the previous one, Fractured Peaks. Characters played during the last two beta weekends will not carry over to the server slam test, and progress made during the test will not carry over to launch. You will choose one of the game's five classes and play a new character up to the server slam level 20 maximum.

When you can pre-load the Diablo 4 server slam beta and when it starts:

Once you reach level 20 and defeat the Ashava, which spawns every three hours throughout the weekend, you will earn the mount trophy Cry of Ashava. Also, as in the previous beta, reaching the city of Kyobashad will earn the title of "Early Wounded" and reaching level 20 will earn the title of "Early Voyager" and a cosmetic item from the beta Wolfpack.

The server slam test will rework dungeons with less backtracking, require barbarian buffs, and have a few other changes from the last beta (open in new tab), and Blizzard has stated that legendary items will no longer drop as frequently as they did at launch According to Blizzard, there are new control options, performance fixes as well as graphics settings for PC players including DLSS 3

When Blizzard opened the gates to the Diablo 4 open beta last month The servers held up surprisingly well when Blizzard opened the gates to the Diablo 4 open beta last month. Latency was almost non-existent, and the worst thing you could encounter was lag, especially when trying to cross between zones. That is no guarantee that the server slam will work, but it is quite possible.

Diablo 4 went gold (opens in new tab) earlier this week and will launch on June 6.
