With "The Last of Us"'s first non-bug-fix mod, Joel and Ellie now have a wardrobe worthy of Hot Topic.

The Last of Us Part 1 may have come out of the PC version in a less-than-ideal (and comically broken (open in new tab)) state, but that hasn't stopped the modders from going at it: since the PC version was released, most of the mods for the game have been graphics Since the PC version was released, most of the game's mods have consisted of graphical reshades, bug fixes (open in new tab), and the usual "skip startup logo (open in new tab)" mods, but it seems that mod creators are starting to get a little more hands-on and are branching out.

Case in point, Joel's (open in new tab) and Ellie's (open in new tab) new clothing collections look as if the protagonists of Naughty Dog's magnum opus have detoured through a ruined target.

A simple reskin of the character's everyday clothes, but aside from another retexture of Joel's T-shirt released a few days ago with the inexplicable "Jonathan" logo added, not a bug fix or reshade since TLOU was released on March 28, "significant" This is the first time a mod has appeared on Nexus.

But that's just one T-shirt. Both of these collections are from the creator Veir, and they are a wardrobe makeover for Ellie and Joel. Marvel at Ellie's flashy Baby Yoda T-shirt (opens in new tab)! Marvel at the withering fatherly energy of Joel's new Elvis Presley shirt (opens in new tab)! Don't tell your copyright lawyer that Ellie is wearing the clothes from the new Avatar (opens in new tab)!

All of them look like they're being sold on a touristy beach in Andalusia, and frankly, I think they're 'great.' [In the grand framework of mods, where many developers are working on projects that rival full-fledged new games, clothing skins are small and frivolous additions, but I'm still glad to see that the disastrous TLOU port hasn't discouraged mods from doing so. With any luck, more creators will start working on mods for the game in hopes that more patches (open in new tab) will be applied to the game and it will be as it should be at launch. But remember, it started with Baby Yoda, Elvis and a dream.
