See, sometimes words get in the way. So, before I start giggling, here's the wildest stroke of luck that GamesRadar (opens in a new tab) has found, the wildest buck I've ever seen in a video game.

Wild, right? For those of you who don't know what you saw, here's the breakdown: a CS:GO player named sp1cay pulled off a one-in-a-million shot with an AWP sniper rifle, killing every enemy player on the opposing team with a single bullet and winning the game with a single pull of the trigger.

This is like successfully completing a water bottle flip challenge on your first attempt. I don't think there are many things like water bottles.

One would suspect that this video is part of the production, but this does not seem to be the case. For one thing, the startled reaction of the winning team when sp1cay pulls the trigger seems entirely genuine, as if they too can't really believe what they just saw. Furthermore, the counterstrike community seems to be taking this seriously: when sp1cay posted this video on Reddit (opens in new tab), people asked, "Is this a rarity?

"It's like asking if it's rare," said a Reddit user named DarkandDarkerDev (open in new tab).

"You're probably one of the double-digit number of people who have done this, so yes, it's rare," said another user mrhunden (opens in new tab). Some veteran players remarked that they had only seen this happen once before while playing the game. At the time of writing, the video has nearly 20,000 upvotes and a brilliant, indecipherable Reddit award.

Although I am not a CS:GO player myself and am relying on the testimony of other players on this matter, many users of the CS:GO subreddit have noted that sniper shots alone were not enough to wipe out five enemy players. sp1cay and his teammates threw a few grenades, grazed some of the enemy players, and reduced their strength a bit so that a single bullet could kill every member of the opposing team.

In other words, even if sp1cay's opponents were still unlikely enough to line up just right for him to take them all out at once, even that would not have been enough if they had not also been caught in the blast zone of the grenade.

Of course, incredible trick shots aren't the only reason Counter-Strike is in the news right now; Valve recently made a surprise announcement of Counter-Strike 2 (open in new tab), the most popular PC One of the games, they declared that the next installment of Counter-Strike 2 will soon be released for free and will carry over all the content of CS:GO.
