More than a month after rumors of the postponement of the production of Suicide Squad: Bring Down the Justice League (opens in new tab) first came to light, it is finally official: Warner Bros. announced today that the film is scheduled for release on February 2, 2024. ...
"We have made the tough but necessary decision to take the time necessary to make the game of the highest quality for our players," WBIE announced on Twitter.
"Thank you for your continued support, patience, and understanding. We look forward to seeing you in Metropolis next year."Suicide Squad didn't exactly knock our socks off when we saw them on the State of Play live stream in February. Well, it's a loot shooter (open in new tab): everyone has a gun, everyone can fly, and as staff writer Morgan Park noted at the time, its rasping blend of chaos and noise is "a major departure from Rocksteady's methodical Arkham series and contrasts with WB Montreal's recent release of Gotham Knights. [Suicide Squad] was originally slated for release in 2022, but was pushed back to spring 2023 in March of that year; it was announced for May 26 at the 2022 Game Awards, but rumors of a second delay (open in new tab) surfaced this March. According to Bloomberg, which first reported the rumor, the postponement was not to make wholesale changes to the game in response to criticism of the February showcase, but simply for bug fixes and brush-ups.
