Sons of the Forest" Update Prevents Accidental Eating of Severed Arm

Cannibalism is a choice, and I am not going to criticize anyone for that choice. We are all hungry, we all like to try new things, and cannibalism may taste good. However, you should consult your doctor to see if cannibalism is right for you.

Cannibalism is a feature of Sons of the Forest (opens in new tab), but you should still be able to choose whether or not to indulge. This is because a little bug in yesterday's hotfix (open in new tab) turned some players into cannibals on their own.

Sons of the Forest allows you to cut off enemy limbs, which can be used as melee weapons or as a food source. Yesterday's hotfix added key bindings, adding arms and legs to the number keys, which can be equipped by tapping them.

However, tapping that key will not equip the limb as a weapon, but will equip it in the stomach through the mouth, i.e. eating it. When an arm or leg is removed from the inventory, instead of swinging it around like a club, it begins to munch and eat.

Oops! My apologies. The good news is that this problem has been fixed in another hotfix today. Severed arms and legs are now equipped as weapons instead of eaten when assigned to a hotkey. Kudos to the devs for fixing that so quickly (and let's hope they don't accidentally start gnawing on it).

There are a few more small tweaks in the hotfixes (open in new tab). Here's the full list:
