When Larian announced the revised system requirements for Baldur's Gate 3 (and the arrival of J.K. Simmons), many people may not have noticed something. Or even for those who plan to purchase the book before the full version is released in August.
"We're giving away a free upgrade to the digital deluxe version on release day!" . Larian said Oprah-esque in a blog post (opens in new tab) detailing the fancier version of the RPG that will be available. And on Twitter (opens in new tab), Larian said, "If you already own the PC version of Baldur's Gate 3 or purchased it in Early Access before launch, you can upgrade to the Digital Deluxe Edition for free on launch day!" He stated.
The Digital Deluxe Edition comes with a custom dice skin depending on whether it was purchased on PC or PlayStation 5, as well as the following:
The Digital Deluxe Edition includes four "Divinity" party member-inspired The "Treasures of Rivellon Pack", which includes four artifacts based on members of the "Divinity" party: the "Mask of the Shapeshifter", based on the bucket-covered skeleton Fayne, which can be changed in appearance; the "Cloak of the Red Prince", based on the Red Prince, a magical cloak; the "Musician in Anguish The Merryweather Minstrel's Lute, based on the motif of Lohse, is a playable instrument; the Outlaw Rogue's Needle, based on the motif of Sibel the Murder Elf, is a magical dagger; and the Sea Beast's Bicorn, based on the motif of Beast the Nautical Dwarf, is a hat.
In addition to the same contents as the Digital Deluxe Edition, it also includes a 25cm diorama of a drow and mind flayer, an oversized metal D20, printed character sheets and art book, a booster for Magic: The Gathering's "Battle for Baldur's Gate" set pack, a physical collector's edition that includes a tadpole keychain, a cloth map, and a certificate of authenticity will also be available. Also included is an extra in-game dice skin.
Baldur's Gate 3 will finally release its full version 1.0 on August 31. The second and third acts of the story will finally be playable, giving you access to all the races and classes listed in the Player's Handbook, as well as a greater variety of spells. If you refuse to play a D&D game without recreating the dragon-born monk, you'll have to wait, but if you want to play now or get your hands on some gorgeous bonus equipment, "Baldur's Gate 3" is available on Steam (open in new tab).
