One of the worst PC transplants of the year has launched its salvation arc.

Woron The PC version of Fallen Dynasty was finally released last week, but it has been plagued with performance problems and mouse control glitches. Today, patch 1.03 began cleaning up what is probably the worst PC port of the year.

The patch notes are available on developer Team Ninja's site (opens in new tab) and claim to fix a number of bugs and crashes as well as camera operation when using the mouse.

At launch, moving the mouse felt like using a controller joystick. You had to work with what felt like a dead zone where the camera would not move until a certain threshold was crossed. It was hard to play fast-paced action games, especially when trying to aim a bow. Today, Wo Long's mouse controls work just like any other PC game.

The game's numerous performance issues have led to thousands of negative Steam reviews (open in new tab) and are currently reflected as a "Mixed" rating on Steam, but that's another story. The patch is said to have fixed a "crash-prone situation that occurred in certain environments," but some players on Reddit (open in new tab) and Steam (open in new tab) are still encountering the problem.

According to Wo Long's Twitter (opens in new tab) account, Team Ninja is working on "other issues that have been reported or inquired about" for the next patch. Hopefully, these other issues will include stuttering, frame rate inconsistencies, bugs that lock the game to 720p resolution, and various visual glitches that players have reported since release.

In his review of Wo Long (opens in new tab), Sam Greer described its technical problems as "disappointing" because it is a "very complete evolution" of Team Ninja's Souls-like action-RPG series Nioh. With time and the promised DLSS update (opens in new tab), anyone who tries to play it may be able to live up to its praise.
