Shredder is coming to Call of Duty.

General
Shredder is coming to Call of Duty.

Earlier today, the official Call of Duty Twitter account released a teaser video that confirms Shredder's appearance in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. Shredder is the big bad in the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" series and is not the cartoon that most people associate with firearms. In fact, I can't recall a single instance of Shredder using a ballistic weapon, but it would be nice to ruin a lucrative cross-promotion."

If only like previous celebrity operators such as Snoop Dogg, Rambo, and John McClane, Shredder would appear as a purchasable operator bundle, complete with his own voice lines, challenges, and perhaps even Shredder (or TMNT) themed cosmetics. If there are voice lines, who knows who will be responsible for them: in the latest "Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" series, Hoon Lee voiced Shredder.

Notably, the new Seth Rogen-produced TMNT film "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem" released its cast list earlier this week, but Shredder is not on it. However, it does feature an impressive voice cast, including Rogen, Jackie Chan, John Cena, Ice Cube, and Post Malone. The film will be released in August, and its distinctive art style bears little resemblance to the teaser video above. In other words, the status of Shredder is incredibly vague until the inevitable details are announced, but this is certain: the skin itself will appear on March 21.

The world of TMNT often collides with video games: characters have appeared in everything from Injustice 2 to Smite. Last year's Shredder's Revenge was also a lot of fun, and our reviewer described it as "a heartfelt and engaging retelling of a classic."
