As a hypothetical reader, you are probably thinking, "They must have tweaked the gun damage values or implemented a bug fix in a hurry. You couldn't be more wrong. They dressed Leon up in a maid's outfit and replaced his gun with a banana.

That's right, the Maid Leon mod (opens in new tab) (description: "The S in Leon S Kennedy stands for Serve") by the creators flopityflips is a technical and artistic masterpiece and has been freely available for download since yesterday evening. It replaces Leon S Kennedy's rugged leather jacket ensemble with a kawaii maid outfit.

But if Leon the maid is not your cup of tea, or if you are not interested in the thong Leon mod (probably shouldn't be opened while at work) (opens in a new tab) that transforms the protagonist into a stylish budgie smuggler, the following "Chainsaw Demo There are a few other oddities that add spice to the play of "Chainsaw". For example, why not try the banana gun and the spoon knife (opens in a new tab)? Leon's standard handgun is replaced with a shiny banana, and the knife is replaced with a spoon.

Not all modifications are as ridiculous as this. For example, it took no time at all for a modder named Praydog to get his demo working in VR (opens in new tab). I don't think anyone has tried to use these other mods in the VR version yet, but it seems to me to highlight a lack of frontier spirit.

On the other hand, a complete remake of "RE4" seems completely unnecessary to me, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited to play (open in new tab) the full version when it is released on March 24. Kudos to the modders for doing this before the game is really released. These mods will be a drop in the bucket compared to the deluge that will come in after the full release of the game.
