Keyboards like wood are expensive.
[Hacoa Full Ki-Board (opens in new tab) (via HotHardware (opens in new tab)) is a thin mechanical keyboard made entirely of hardwood.

At least, the entire enclosure, all keys, and the optional palm rest are. Price" 99,000 yen, or about $745 in old money.

Initially offered in walnut or cherry hardwood, the keys are carved from a single block of wood, with the color and grain matching and spreading throughout the layout. Excellent.

Speaking of keys, the caps are laser etched for long-lasting durability. As for the mechanics, it uses "blue axis" clicky switches with a key stroke of 3 mm, 45 g actuation force, and 1.2 mm actuation point.

Inside is a 1,000mAh battery with 240 hours of runtime and a 2-hour charge time. Bluetooth 5.0 is used for wireless connectivity, with a range of approximately 8 meters.

There is also a USB-C port for charging, but the actual connection is solely via the wireless interface. The keyboard is a full QWERTY + numeric keypad with US English alignment. The wooden palm rest costs an additional $85. Ouch.

For those who like to oil their wood, there is a slight disappointment. The boards are covered with a urethane protective coat, so they don't need regular maintenance. Too bad.

Even at a price of $745, the board appears to be a hit, as it is currently listed as sold out (open in new tab). However, according to Hacoa's website, they can ship worldwide. If interested, one can sign up to receive notifications of restocks.
