Strangers of Paradise Final Fantasy Origins coming to Steam next month at a discounted price

Everyone's favorite boy, his vibrating eggs (opens in new tab), and his computer-destroying hair (opens in new tab) will finally graduate from the Epic Games Store exclusive next month. Strangers of Paradise Final Fantasy Origins will launch on Steam on April 6, giving everyone who stubbornly tries to keep just one game library on their digital shelves a chance to kill chaos. Its new commemorative trailer can be seen here (opens in a new tab).

To commemorate this transition, and to get people to spend money on this game, the game is getting a permanent price cut: the price, which was $60/50 pounds, will be reduced to $40/35 pounds. Witness the fate that awaits Jack, who has broken the bonds of fate, with more ease on your wallet than ever before.

If you've somehow avoided memes, don't worry, "Strangers of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origins" centers on beefcake, goofy Jack, who really, really wants, along with his friends Jed and Ash, to defeat the evil overlord Chaos It's a Final Fantasy game with a "Beefcake" in the middle. Jack wears clothes bought on sale at the Gap and wields a big sword, but somehow this all amounts to an alternate-world prequel to the original "Final Fantasy" on the NES.

It's kind of brilliant" Don't get me wrong, it's a flawed game, but it's like a big, dumb golden retriever, and it's likable. Anne-Marie Coyle wrote about the game in her review of Strangers of Paradise (opens in new tab), calling it "an undeniably stylish and engagingly silly adventure," with "solid and engaging combat" and "varied environments," giving it a 72% score. In particular, she noted that despite its dark and bizarre style, "it shines as a Final Fantasy title because the game can be tailored to your preferred play style and difficulty level."
